The Different Types of Spy Camera Systems

The following are some of the types of spy camera systems:

The Spy Web Cam

The spy web cam is a tiny camera that helps in transmitting video output to a remote receiver. Their small size – sometimes as small as the size of a key,
after they are hidden- is their special defining quality. The web spy cam is used usually as a piece of surveillance equipment and is not intended to harm anybody.

The difference between a normal spy cam and a spy web cam is that all data in a spy web cam is being transmitted live on the Internet, and not to a receiver. Spy web cams are usually used for wholesome purposes like giving viewers a live feedback of their local area, or observing the actions of animals in their natural habitat. Sometimes, however, they can be used to spy on unsuspecting persons.

Wearable Spy Camera

These spy cams usually serve the purpose of law enforcement. These small sized unnoticeable spy cams are the ideal tool for private investigators, secret agents, cover surveillance,

but they are available to the public as well. Whenever someone wants to have a little fun, do a little espionage, or take pictures in places where the use of regular cameras is restricted, the wearable spy cam is the ideal device.

Specialized shops sell wearable spy cams well hidden in sunglasses, pens, pagers, helmets (for recording a parachute jump or a bike ride), and are usually, tiny, lightweight, and waterproof. For recording events without being caught, you could consider keeping a lens mounted on your helmet, and a camcorder in your backpack. The most appreciated wearable spy cams are the concealed ones, such as a pen camera. They are well hidden being small in size, and can be used in the recording of important testimonies, with or without the permission of the person testifying.

Pinhole Spy Cameras

These are defined as spy cams that are state of the art, and are so tiny- some of them as small as a quarter- that they can be well hidden inside a lamp, a stuffed animal, or a picture frame, and are practically impossible to detect. The lens of the pinhole spy cam is not as big as that in a normal spy cam, but provides for a wider viewing range. It is the only part of the spying device that cannot be hidden.

All that is needed to operate it is a pair of batteries (or maybe a 9V battery depending on the type of model) and a VCR. Apart from recording facilities, many pinhole spy cams also offer built in air purifiers, smoke detectors, or motion sensors (which means the recording starts only when motion is detected, thereby saving the user lots of videotape and time).

Pinhole spy cams are used for protection and for surveillance operations. Employers use them to keep tabs on employee productivity and to prevent employees from thieving supplies, and concerned parents use them to keep a watchful eye on their babysitter. The signals from pinhole spy cams can be either recorded for later viewing or transmitted to a live feed. The pinhole spy cam is a good security investment with lot of options and moreover being offered at low prices.

Disguised Spy Camera

Along with the advent of newer spy camera surveillance devices, private citizens can make use of this technology to serve their own security needs. They can use the disguised spy camera to alert them of any intruders on their property, and to keep a watchful eye on their valuables. These modern cameras are used to full effect by private detectives and the police, who take advantage of their small size which are virtually undetectable to the human eye.

Disguised spy cams can be used for purposes of protection also. Public buildings and several banks use state of the art surveillance cameras that perfectly blend into the background, while at the same time recording all activity in the area, virtually unnoticed by a great majority of the people. Some examples of such types of disguised spy cam equipment include nanny, hidden, pinhole, digital, pinhole and wearable spy cameras.

Night Vision Spy Cameras

A perfect example of this sort of spy cam is the Wireless Night Vision Covert Camera- which is a small, infrared, wireless camera, whose 4 built- in power-packed LEDs, allow this mini camera to see in darkness. It can be set up in a matter of minutes ( just put the spy cam overlooking the area that you want viewed, and plug the receiver into the TV or the VCR), and can also be plugged into a PC .It is ideal for covert activities like low light surveillance operations

We can see before us the varied range of spy cam equipment flooding the market today. Indeed the home spy cam, the real spy cam, office spy cams, the wireless color spy cam, spy cam videos and spy camera systems all have carved their own place in people’s lives –both personal and professional – and new devices in the spy cam industry are constantly being developed to suit their security needs. This can only spell success for the spy cam industry and its manufacturers.
